A place for people with VCA transplants

The Reconstructive Transplant Peer Network is a newly formed support group specifically for recipients of vascularized composite allograft (VCA) transplants. The RTPN was created by a diverse community of VCA recipients and their caretakers, to provide a safe and supportive space to share their experiences and connect with others who understand the complexities of living with a VCA transplant. The RTPN aims to educate and advocate to improve outcomes, and to be a voice for patients in dialogue with surgeons and clinicians prominent in this branch of reconstructive surgery.

The RPTN is developing a range of resources, including but not limited to:

  • Information about living with a VCA transplant, including tips for managing physical and emotional challenges

  • An opportunity to connect with others who have undergone similar experiences and can offer support and advice

  • A platform for sharing your own experiences and offering support to others in the group

  • Updates on the latest research and developments in the field of VCA transplantation

Living with a VCA transplant can be a challenging and complex experience. We welcome VCA recipients of all ages and from all walks of life, and we hope that the RTPN will provide a sense of community, connection, and support for all of its members. If you’re interested in joining the RTPN, please don’t hesitate to reach out via our contact page. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your journey.
